It’s only the first week?!

My New Year’s Resolution was to blog once a week, and I just realized that if I don’t blog today, I’ll have already broken it! Not a good way to start out 2013.

This first week back in Raleigh and back at school has been crazy! Much different than last semester, for sure.

I’m excited for things to come. I found out yesterday that I will have an internship this semester, which means one less class (and one less term paper to write). I’m looking forward to getting started, since it’s in the area I want to work in (International Education) and there will be lots for me to learn. However, it’s in Durham so that means I need to buy a car. Like, now. I shouldn’t be writing this blog post, I should be out buying a car. Luckily I have my own personal car-buying assistant who knows much more about these things than I do, so I’m in good hands. 🙂

I’m also taking a class called International Higher Education, which I had last night for the first time. The professors (it’s team taught) seem really great and the people in the class are all people who are doing or want to do pretty much what I want to do, so I think it will be an excellent experience.

All in all, I think (and hope) that things will really come together for me this semester. There were times last Fall when I was sort of questioning my decision to leave Chile and move to a new place, but now I realize that Raleigh and NCSU is the place for me.

Just as a little extra icing on the cake, it’s supposed to be in the 70s this weekend! I’d just like to point out that it’s JANUARY! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining! I don’t have THAT much homework to do, so I definitely plan on soaking up some warmth, and I’ll make sure to send some your way (unless you’re in Chile, then you probably have enough of that!)

  1. I’m so glad you’re settling back into your new semester. 😀 And I can’t believe the temp is in the 70s! Lucky you! It’s warm here too but it seems like everyone else I know elsewhere in the world is complaining about the cold and the snow. Haha.
