Charlie Ventures Outside

Charlie has been spending most of his time upstairs. Although he’s gotten MUCH braver as time goes on, our two dogs still freak him out a bit.

Yesterday my mom took the dogs on a walk and Charlie ventured downstairs. I was by the back door organizing the MOUNTAIN of stuff that I’m moving down to NC with me, and I decided to let Charlie outside. He LOVED it.

Here are some pictures.

At this point he’s saying, “Where the heck am I?”

At first he stayed only on the deck and sniffed every last square inch.

But after a while, he got brave enough to venture down the steps.

And then into the mulch.

And then finally on the grass! He’s like…this stuff is weird.

What a handsome kitty!

He spent about half an hour outside, carefully walking through the grass, sniffing everything and overall being very cautious.  I’m not ready for him to be an outside cat, but I think chaperoned trips outside are okay once in a while.

  1. My cat will barely venture onto the deck. The outside is a very big and scary place and although he is fascinated by it, he prefers to watch from the comfort of his climate-controlled window perch.

  3. How CUTE is Charlie! What a cutie pie. My Lucy is fascinated by everything she see’s from the window, I’m sure she might like to go out but we live on the edge of a 110 acre wildlife preserve and there’s a lot of foxes and such, she’s def going to always be an INSIDE cat!
