Crazy. And my upcoming trip to Buenos Aires.

The past two weeks have been insane. I have been full to the brim with work, English classes and a few social commitments. But mostly work. Work. Work. Work.

But that is okay, because I like my job, and because there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Friday is my last day! Of course it is bittersweet. I’m going to miss my job, despite all the stress and tired-ness it has been causing me recently. I’ll miss the students, my Friday sushi lunches with my boss, my chats with my work neighbor, the great trips we take with the students, etc.

To top it all off, I’m going to Buenos Aires on Saturday! I’ve never been, so I welcome any and all suggestions. So far, I definitely want to take a tour of Teatro Colón, visit the Feria de Antiguidades in San Telmo and go to what I call the “Cat Park” but which is really called Jardín Botánico. I think I’ll also check out Recoleta Cemetery and the Casa Rosada.

Any other must sees in Buenos Aires? Don’t tell me to eat steak, because that won’t happen. But otherwise, suggest away!

Needless to say, I won’t be posting much during the next week. But check back soon for lots of posts and pictures on Buenos Aires and my last days in Santiago.

  1. Woohoo! Enjoy your time in BA, hunni. Dance with an Argentine man – that’s a task I’m giving you to do. 😉 Oh, they’re so beautiful.

  2. Go to El Ateneo — it’s an grand old theater building (or maybe opera, I can’t remember) turned into a fantastic bookstore. There are lots of pictures online if you want to see what you have to look forward too! And it’s near Recoleta Cemetery.

  3. If you like art, visit the MALBA museum. Go to at least one of the historic cafes like Tortoni (albeit too touristy). Walk, walk, walk (Recoleta, San Telmo, Palermo). Have a look at the shops in Palermo. Do visit Recoleta Cemetery. A friend of mine developed an iphone app guide thing in English. I can send you the link if interested.
