Chilean Entrepreneurs

I’ve always been amazed by the Chilean entrepreneurial spirit. Whenever there is a large group of people, whether it is in line for a concert, celebrating a football victory at Plaza Italia or marching for education, I guarantee you there will be multiple people selling their wares.

These are some pictures I’ve taken from some education marches that have gone past my office during the past few months.

This woman is selling little baggies of confetti to throw during the march. Not very environmentally friendly, but a staple at any Chilean protest.

This gentleman is selling whistles. What's a protest without some ear-splitting whistling?

Cuchufli anyone? I'll pass, but this hollow cookie filled with manjar is quite a popular snack.

  1. I am always amazed at both how entrepreneurial Chileans are and how resourceful they are too. I mean, those guys that used to ride the micros could convince me to buy anything!
