Stefan Kramer

Stefan Kramer is, simply, a genius. He is a professional impersonator who can imitate anyone. I remember one of the first times I saw him I didn’t really understand why everyone was laughing, but it was because I didn’t know the character he was imitating. But then, later on, I saw this video, and almost died laughing. I think it’s mostly because I became more familiar with Chilean politicians, sports figures, actors, etc.

I think you probably have to have lived in Chile to understand the context, but basically former coach of the Chilean National Team, Marcelo Bielsa, really liked former Chilean president Michelle Bachelet, whereas he and current President Sebastian Piñera did not get along, and many accuse him of going behind the scenes to influence the change in coaching that occurred last year, in which Bielsa left his post.

Anyway, Stefan Kramer is coming out with a new movie, called Stefan vs. Kramer and this is the preview.

If you can identify the characters in the video, I’d say you’re pretty well integrated into Chilean culture and society. They are Marcelo Bielsa and Sebastian Piñera, who we saw in the first video, Leonardo Farkas, one of the richest men in Chile, Pablo Zalquett, the mayor of the comuna of Santiago and Negro Piñera, the president’s brother and “black sheep” of the family.

Kramer truly has a gift, and I can’t wait to see this movie!

    • Yeah he’s definitely the most obscure one…actually I think I learned who he was from seeing a different Kramer impression of him, then saw him interviewed later (I think when Obama came) and I was like…it’s the same person!

  1. I saw the previews for this the other day, and I kind of wonder whether 2 hours of Kramer is too much. I love him, but I’m not convinced that his act translates well to feature film format – although I’d be happy to be proven wrong!
