>I got my hair cut today. I go to the Tech school so it’s only $10 with tip and the girls are really nice. My mom’s best friend is an adult student there, and I usually go to her, but she was booked today. So I had someone else.
She talked me into cutting a long side bang. I have not had bangs since I was six years old. She told me I would look more sophisticated. The jury is still out on how it looks, but I can tell you one thing: it’s bugging the hell out of me! I’m not used to having something hanging in my face. I am constantly trying to tuck it behind my ear. Hopefully it will grow on me.
On a completely unrelated note, one of my favorite parts of Christmas is the magical light put off by the Christmas Tree lights. The other night I was inspired and took a couple of pictures.
This ornament is part of a set that our very talented neighbor, a wood-carver, made years ago. It depicts the Twelve Days of Christmas. Pictured here are The Drummers Drumming (10? 12? I forget…)Unfortunately, our neighbor passed away soon after we bought them. Now these ornaments are priceless. They always make it onto our tree because they are so simple but beautiful.
Oscar (the cat) LOVES the Christmas tree. He spends most of the day and night curled up sleeping under the tree. He doesn’t like to go outside in the winter, so the Christmas Tree is like his own little corner of nature inside the house.
Right now I’m off to wrap presents and maybe make some sugar cookie dough if I have time.
